Today we headed east to the town of Lecce. This town is known for its for its Baroque architecture and the castle at its heart. A little bit longer drive today but still only a bit over an hour away.

The castle can only be viewed by tour. As the next tour wasn’t happening for 45 minutes we opted to take an additional gravity ticket for a Shakespeare installation piece, it was very strange.

I can’t say I understood the installation piece but it did kill some time.

When we got out it was time to take our tour.

The most interesting part was the former prison with carvings on the wall done by the prisoners.

Most of the rooms were empty but one room had a few excellent frescos!

We got a quick lunch and I’m still not sure what to think of it.

For our last stop we went to a privately owned archaeology museum. It was a little chaotic.

By this point we were pretty tired and hot so we headed back to our lodging. So, here are some images from the outside of our lodging.
