England 2025, Day 7

This morning I headed out from Lynton and began making my way to my next lodging. But before hitting my new hotel, I would visit Knightshayes Court and Garden.

Knightshayes Court was built in the mid-1800’s and the original designs were for a fanciful medieval inspired manor. The owners rolled back some of the most extreme design choices and eventually had to switch to a different architect to complete the home.

The gardens surrounding the Court were the love of the last owners. They spent most of their funds on their beloved gardens, to the detriment of the home. When the National Trust finally took over the property, the home needed extensive repair work that continues to this day.

Replica of the original architect’s guest room in London.

The wallpaper throughout the home was amazing!

Library, the only room that is almost what the original architect designed.

After wandering through all of the gardens I headed to the nearby town for a bit of lunch.

Fish and chips…again.

I tried to hit up a nearby Abbey but I could not find parking anywhere. So, I gave up and headed off to my next lodging called The Swan.

Love my new digs!

At the end of the day, I headed down to have dinner at the restaurant.

Flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce and ….chips.

We’ll see if I can escape the rain tomorrow.
