Spain/Portugal 2020 Day 9

Second to last day in Portugal and we spent the day in Lisbon. Our first trip of the day was to drop off our car rental a day early. Since we are spending the last two days in Lisbon there is no need to have a rental that would just sit in a parking garage. So, we drove the car back to the airport through the most empty capital city I have ever seen.

Next was an exciting race car taxi ride to the Monastery of Jeronimos. This monastery was recommended by almost everyone who knew we were coming to Lisbon. The cloister was gorgeous with amazing detail throughout the courtyard. The line to the church itself was a bit long and we had seen quite a few on the trip so we skipped and went off to lunch.

We took the afternoon easy and just saw the Belem Tower as well as the Prada do Comercio. The tower was unique and the drive to the Plaza was a bit breezy but there were some wacky adverts along the way!

Just great!

At about this point I am nearly vacationed out. We’re still having fun but definitely slowing down.
