Today was a bucket list item for me, we got to visit the Temple at Delphi. According to Greek mythology, Delphi is the center of the world. They even had a rock that they were sure Zeus threw there once he determined the center of the world.
We managed to get to the site right at opening, it was a 20 second drive from our overnight parking, and the parking was already filling up. Getting there early was definitely the right move, it gave us the opportunity to see much of the site without too many people around. Tour busses started arriving as we walked up from the parking and continued to arrive and depart as we toured the area.
Much of the site is just ground level ruins with a few sections that were restored. The entire site is on a hill which means that the entire visit involves walking higher and higher up the hill. We really got our steps in!

We managed to complete our visit before the predicted rain came in and we headed out on our long drive to our next lodging. On the way we stopped at the port town of Nafpaktos. This was yet another old Venetian port with a walled city and a castle. I thought this might be an interesting place for lunch. Lunch was ok and there was a little to see in the downtown but not much.

Once we finally reached our lodging for the next two nights we rested up. Dinner was a simple affair and only one item was interesting or new.

Tomorrow we head to the home of the original Olympic Games.
