Germany 2024 Day 4

Stuttgart is the largest market we have been to and the largest market on the trip so far.

We got very lucky with parking and only had a three minute walk, at most, to get to the edge of the market. As we had arrived at around 11:30AM the market was not overly crowded which would let us wander with little hinderance.

Once we hit the market we just picked a direction and began our walk. It wasn’t too long before we got our first mugs of the day.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the German Christmas markets is the effort dedicated to decoration the roof of the stalls. The decorations vary greatly in design from the simple Christmas theme to animated scenes from German fairy tales.

There is a great variety of stalls and merchandise.

There was a lot of good food at the market too!

Plank cooked salmon. So warm here!

Uncut bacon.

Potato pancakes with apple sauce.

Hollow cone pastry.

Venison goulash dinner.

Ox sandwich.

Cheesy Spaetzel with onions.

Puff pastry similar to a donut.

As the sun set the lights really stood out!

Light show in the main plaza.

Tomorrow we will be moving hotels and heading to the city of Nuremberg. We should hit at least one, maybe two markets tomorrow. All depends on how the driving goes and how long we stay at the first market.
