Germany 2024 Day 2

Christmas Market! Today was the first Christmas Market of the trip in the town of Esslingen. However; it was not just a Christmas Market but also a Medieval Market. This meant that, while it may be smaller than some of the other markets, it offered a wider diversity of items. Most importantly it offered some very unique mugs, which is the whole point of going to the German Christmas Markets in the first place.

Started off the market with a cup of hot apple cider and cinnamon.

Piping hot and a great way to start off the market.

We wandered from place to place looking for something good for lunch. There were a few too many options but we did, finally settle on some things.

Curry wurst.

Cheesy bread with leek cream cheese and bacon.

Once we were properly fueled it was time to wander the market!

Nuts

A lot of the Christmas Market stalls had wonderfully decorated roofs.

As evening started to settle in it did get a bit more surreal.

We did find a furry friend at the market too.

I did get one more mug before we headed out.

We finished the day at Tubingen, where we are lodging for the next few days.

Modern convenience of a 24 hr vending machine store.

Ended the night with cheesy spaetzel.
