Italy 2023 Day 11

Day 10 kinda sucked. Nothing I wanted to do worked out so the best parts were the castle in the morning and dinner at night. So, I’ll show the highlights of those and get onto day 11.

Morning view, waaaay too early.

Breakfast room

The views out the windows are great!

Dinner started with a chestnut and mushroom soup. Surprisingly delicious!

Pici noodles with ragu and porcini mushrooms.

New lodging. My room is the one with the light on.

View from the room.

I even have a small fresco.

Day 11 started off better. As the only person staying last night they brought my breakfast to my room! I headed south shortly after to see some Etruscan sites.

The first stop was a series of tombs carved into the volcanic rock. It was soft and easy to carve into. Some of the sites were only found in the last 20-30 years.

View of the town Sorvana.

The town Sorano.

Veal rolled around artichoke heart.

Ricotta mousse with pine nuts and honey.

Sorano has a small Etruscan and medieval museum.

And I did get to pet another friendly kitty.
