Based on the weather predictions for the few days, I chose to go to the city of Perugia with the hope of a rain free day. Thankfully, the rain held off and I was able to wander the city without an umbrella. I was also lucky that this city also had escalators up to the top!

Perugia has several sights I was interested in seeing and most were open. Unfortunately, their archaeological museum is closed on Mondays so my day ended up being a bit shorter than I had initially wished for. My first sight was Cattedrale Metropolitina di San Lorenzo. Outside of which sits a statue of a Pope keeping watch over the town hall so that the city respects Papal rule.

Walking around the town is always a fun part of the day.

The underground supports are the only parts of the old town fort remaining. They are also where you come up into from the parking!

Part of the reason that I cam to Perugia was because of a Stanley Tucci special on Italy. He went to a restaurant called La Prosciutteria and the food looked great! I had been looking forward to lunch there since the beginning of the trip. It was worth the wait and the price was very reasonable.

After lunch I hit up the one museum that I knew was open. It also happens to be a museum of art…religious art. They can’t all be winners. Still, the special exhibit had the most vivid colors I’ve ever seen on religious art.

For the final part of today’s entry I will be trying something new. Videos of the small castle I’m currently staying at.
If these videos work out I’ll try to add some more in the future!
