Finally a day with no driving. I spent the whole day walking through the city of Bergen. The morning was around the historic area know as Bryggen, a series of historic buildings that haven’t burned down recently and used to be trading houses. Currently, the area is shops and restaurants geared towards tourists.

After a few walks around, I headed off to the Rosenkrantz Tower and Haakon’s Hall, both part of the medieval royal residence.

One of the things that excited me for being here on the 2nd and 3rd was that Bergen was having a food festival! Only downside was so many choices for lunch.

After lunch I took a ride up the Funicular to the top of one of the seven hills surrounding Bergen. Some great views from the top!

Then back down to the Bryggen museum and back out through the fish market.

And after an accidental nap I headed back to the fish market for an elk burger that had been tempting me every time I passed by the stall.
