Ireland 2021 Day 4

Kerry is still my favorite place to visit in Ireland! No matter which way you go there is always some amazing scenery. Today I was visiting a new location the Cliffs of Kerry. A bit lesser known than the cliffs of Moher and definitely not nearly as long. Still they were very impressive and not nearly as crowded.

I’d like to say walking up the cliffs was worth the view but I’m still trying to catch my breath.

Nearby was the town of Portmagee, the gateway to the Skellig Islands. The town is pretty small but a good stopping point along the Ring of Kerry. That’s if you can find any parking in the town.

Good lunch spot. Just look at the name!
Yes, fish and chips again.

Portree was the only place I experienced sun today. I don’t know what it is with lunchtime and sunshine but they seem to be going hand in hand right now.

The rest of the afternoon was spent on a drive through the mountain passes and valleys of the Kerry mountains. I would never, ever, want to do this doing tourist season! Those are some tiny roads with some very nasty turns.
