Ireland, Day 4

Actually a short transitional day, although not completely intended. The plan for the day was to end in Waterford after visiting Cork.

I spent the morning in jail. Well, the Cork Gaol and now a museum. Thankfully it was a self guided tour so I could take my time and the photos that I wanted. Being built of stone the whole place felt colder than outside and I was glad I could leave voluntarily. The architecture was fairly grand and the work done to bring it back closer to its original state was impressive. I’m not sure that anyone who had been forced to stay there would appreciate the effort, though.

My next stop was supposed to be the English Market in the center of Cork. The car park had other plans. I got a lovely tour of all five levels of the car park and then got to follow the exit signs out. Not a single spot available and I couldn’t find any other parking nearby.

So, I redirected straight to Waterford with the intent of stopping at any interesting spots that I could find. I could not find.

Tomorrow the whole day is planned to be in Waterford to see the multiple museums and a bit of the Christmas festival happening each weekend here!
